Episode 2: Losing Followers, Staying Committed, and Donating Cookies Anyway

Episode 2: When Growth Goes Backwards and Why We Did Not Quit

Not every chapter of building a business is exciting or easy. Some days are quiet. Some days feel discouraging. And some days, growth goes backward. Episode 2 of our story is about one of those moments and why we chose to keep going anyway.

The Donation Goal That Did Not Go as Planned

This week, we launched a simple idea. For every ten new followers we gained, we would donate one cookie. The goal was not about numbers or algorithms. It was about giving back and spreading a little joy through cookies.

Day two came around, and we checked the numbers.

We did not gain followers.
We actually lost followers.

That moment stings more than people realize. When you put something out into the world with good intentions and it does not land, the easiest thing to do is quit quietly and move on.

The Temptation to Stop

When growth slows or reverses, doubt creeps in fast. You start questioning the idea, the timing, and sometimes even yourself. Should we stop posting? Should we scrap the donation idea? Should we just move on to something else?

Those are the moments most people do not see. The moments where giving up would be simple and understandable.

But we did not start Fat and Weird Cookie because things were easy.

Why We Are Trying Again

We have a bigger goal than follower counts. We want to donate a meaningful amount of cookies this year. We want to show up consistently, even when results are not instant. And we want to build something that feels honest, not curated or perfect.

So we are trying again.

This is a follow based donation goal, and we are inviting you to be part of it. Every ten new followers equals one donated cookie. By the end of 2025, we want to look back and say we kept showing up, even when it felt uncomfortable.

Right now, the number of donated cookies is not many. But every movement starts somewhere.

What This Moment Really Represents

This episode is not just about social media growth. It is about resilience. It is about choosing to keep going when momentum is missing. It is about believing in the long game and trusting that consistency matters more than viral moments.

Fat and Weird Cookie was built on risk, rejection, and doing things differently. Losing followers does not change why we started. It just reminds us that progress is rarely linear.
